Last Updated: March 2026

Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of glidentry.com (the "Site") and related services (collectively, the "Services") operated by Glide Entry ("we", "us", or "our"). The Services provide facial recognition-based event check-in and identity verification.

By checking the "I agree to the Terms of Service" box during account registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use the Services.

Intellectual Property

All content published and made available on our Site is the property of Glide Entry and its creators. This includes, but is not limited to, images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files, and anything that contributes to the composition of our Site.

Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data, including biometric data. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Biometric data consent is obtained separately and is not bundled with your acceptance of these Terms.

Acceptable Use

As a user of our Services, you agree to use them legally and not for illegal purposes. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or mistreat others
  • Violate the rights or privacy of others
  • Infringe intellectual property or proprietary rights of Glide Entry or any third party
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Site or Services by automated means without written permission
  • Bypass, probe, or test the vulnerability of any system or network, or bypass security or authentication measures
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services except to the limited extent permitted by applicable law
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the integrity or performance of the Services
  • Use the Services in violation of applicable export controls, sanctions, or other laws

If we believe you are using the Services illegally or in violation of these Terms, we may limit, suspend, or terminate your access and take any legal steps necessary.

Accounts

When you create an account, you agree that: you are solely responsible for your account and the security of your credentials; all personal information you provide is accurate and current, and you will update it if it changes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Services

Glide Entry provides the following services: facial recognition event check-in, QR code event check-in, event access management, and attendee management tools for event organizers.

We strive to provide accurate descriptions of our Services. Service features and availability may change from time to time, and we will provide notice of material changes.

Biometric Data Consent

Facial recognition check-in requires your separate, express consent to the collection and processing of biometric data. This consent is obtained at the time of biometric enrollment, independently from your agreement to these Terms. You are not required to consent to biometric data collection to use our Services — QR code check-in is available as an alternative.

You may withdraw biometric consent at any time through the app or by emailing privacy@glidentry.com. When you withdraw through the app, your facial embedding is deleted promptly. For email requests, deletion is completed promptly. Facial recognition check-in will no longer be available after withdrawal. QR code check-in will remain available.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information in accordance with the retention schedule described in our Privacy Policy. Biometric data is deleted promptly when you withdraw through the app, or promptly for email requests. You may request deletion of all personal data, including biometrics, by emailing privacy@glidentry.com or by submitting a request at glidentry.com/delete-account.

Event Organizer Obligations

Event organizers who receive attendee personal information (name, email, and check-in status) through Glide Entry agree to use that information solely for managing the specific event for which it was provided and in compliance with applicable privacy law.

Service Quality and Warranties

You may have certain rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and the Sale of Goods Act (Ontario), that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory warranty, guarantee, right, or remedy that applies under such legislation.

Glide Entry will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide the Services in a professional and workmanlike manner consistent with generally accepted industry standards. If the Services do not meet this standard, your remedy under this section (subject to your preserved statutory rights) will be for Glide Entry to re-perform the affected Services.

Subject to your statutory rights, Glide Entry does not make express warranties regarding uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure operation of the Services.

Limitation of Liability

General Limitation

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: (a) breach of any implied warranty under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or Sale of Goods Act; (b) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (c) fraud; or (d) any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.

Subject to the foregoing, Glide Entry's total aggregate liability for all non-statutory claims arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of the fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months or CAD $100.

Biometric Data — Enhanced Liability

The general limitation of liability does not apply to: (a) claims arising from breach of obligations regarding biometric information; (b) breaches of security safeguards resulting in unauthorized access to biometric information; (c) gross negligence or willful misconduct in handling personal or biometric information; or (d) any liability that cannot be limited under applicable privacy law.

No Waiver of Privacy Rights

Nothing in these Terms waives your rights under PIPEDA, applicable provincial privacy legislation, or any other applicable data protection law. Your right to file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is not affected by these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction and Consumer Rights

Subject to your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, you and Glide Entry agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, sitting in Toronto. Nothing in this section limits the right of either party to seek interim relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer under applicable legislation, nothing in these Terms deprives you of any right to: (a) commence or participate in a class proceeding; (b) commence an action in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario or in any court of competent jurisdiction in the province in which you reside; or (c) choose, after a dispute has arisen, to submit the dispute to arbitration.

Dispute Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, the initiating party must send a written notice to the other party via email describing the claim and the specific relief sought. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days before pursuing formal proceedings. Notices to Glide Entry should be sent to legal@glidentry.com.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page, updating the "Last Updated" date, and notifying you by email. For material changes, we may require you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Services. Changes to biometric data handling are governed by the consent process described in our Privacy Policy.
